MANUU and MeitY ushers in an Epoch of Inclusive Education AR/VR Metaverse Project Lab inaugurated

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) yesterday inaugurated AR/VR ( Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) Metaverse Project Lab, a beacon of advanced research and innovation at Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT).
This monumental leap, powered by a generous 95 Crore fund allocation to Prof. Abdul Wahid, Project Chief Investigator and Dean, CSIT, MANUU by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India on 5th December 2023.
Prof. Ainul Hasan lauded Prof. Abdul Wahid's efforts in bagging one of the prestigious project of the Government of India to University’s feathers that aligns with the government's commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities, aiming to empower and foster independence among those with intellectual disabilities. He said that the lab, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including advanced GPUs and high-powered computers, is set to become a hub for developing customised training and monitoring systems specifically designed for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Prof. Ainul Hasan further signifies that this is more than just the commencement of a huge project which symbolizes a leap forward in academic excellence and University's dedication in creating a collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research. This is an announcement of an era characterized by pioneering research and transformative discoveries.
Prof. Abdul Wahid eloquently expressed that positioning of the lab as a portal to a future filled with innovative research and discoveries that will shape our world and the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology of the University is at the forefront, ready to explore new frontiers and craft a future narrative that integrates innovation, inclusivity, and excellence.
