MANUU Seminar highlights the importance of informative literature
Promotion of knowledge based literature is inevitable to empower the Urdu community. Technology has empowered us and made all humans equal. Creation of knowledge literature is now important as our society has become information society. These views are expressed by Prof. M. Shafey Kidwai, Head, Department of Mass Communication, Aligarh Muslim university. He was delivering keynote address yesterday at the inaugural session of two day online National Seminar on ‘Urdu Mein Maloomati Adab’ (knowledge literature in Urdu) organized by The Directorate of Translation & Publications (DTP), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU).
The seminar is sponsored by National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language(NCPUL).
The Chief Guest Prof. MuzaffarShahmiri, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University, Kurnool, AP in his address while comparing creative and informative literatureadvised to use the terminology as it is during translation. Prof. SM Rahmatullah, Vice Chancellor I/c, MANUU in his presidential address said that knowledge literature in Urdu is mandatory and its promotion will develop Urdu language. He appreciated the efforts of the DTP in the preparation of knowledge literature.
Prof Mohd. Zafaruddin, Director, DTPdelivered the welcome address and spoke about the aims & objectives of the seminar. Dr. Aslam Parwez, seminar convenor proposed vote of thanks. The Seminar was telecasted live on IMC, MANUU Youtube Channel.
