Profile of Mr. Md Imtiyaz Alam

He holds a degree in M.A and M. Phil in Urdu from JNU, New Delhi, He has also done M.A Journalism and Mass communication from Acharya Nagarjuna University. Besides, he has also done PG Diploma in TV Journalism, JMI, New Delhi, Advance Diploma in Mass Media, JNU, New Delhi and Film Appreciation from NPTEL Online Certification, from IIT, Madras. Further he has also done Short Term course in Film Appreciation Course, from FTII, Pune in collaboration with IMC, MANUU.

He has been in media for the last 14 years; this includes 10 years of experience in Educational Media in MANUU, where he is conducting research projects to understand the impact and outreach of the educational video programmes at the user end. Besides, he is also producing curriculum based programmes of various subjects and also supervised many documentary films as an executive producer. Before joining in MANUU, he was associated with Zauqi Films, New Delhi, where he conceptualized and written scripts of more than 100 episodes on various themes significant to general audiences, which were telecast on DD Urdu channel.

Imtiyaz Alam has participated and presented papers in many National and International Seminars in Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, Dr. B.R Ambedkar University, Hyderabad and in MANUU. He is continuously writing in Urdu news papers/ magazines since his student life. He has been invited to take the classes on TV productions for the course of PG Diploma in Mass Communication and Translation techniques in Urdu, HCU. Hyderabad.

He was one of the course writer of Supplementary Materials for class XII titled “Izhar aur Iblagh” specially the chapter “Educational Media” published by National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. He has also written Unit (5) “Introduction of Broadcast Media” of Self Instructional Material (SIM) of a course tilled Anchoring for optional paper of B.A, by Department of Urdu, BRAOU, Hyderabad, Telangana.

Apart from these academic contributions his area of interest is to write “Script” as he has written many scripts for the Biographical short Film like Sir Isaac Newton, Dr. A.P J kalam, and Stephen Howking, which were nominated in National Science Film festival at Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, organized by Vigayan Prasar, Department Science & Technology, Govt. of India (2019). Subsequently last two films also got monition in Global Film festival, (Silliguri) organized by Film Federation India (FFI) 2019, which were appreciated by the jury and a large number of viewers.

He has been serving the University in various capacities right from beginning as a core committee member as well as a convener/co-convener for Literary & Cultural Competitions for the students and the staff on the eve Republic Day Celebrations as well in Azad Day Celebrations.
